Scrap Etc Event in Nashville

I just signed up to attend a scrapping event in Nashville. I have been wanting to attend a conference that was located where my DH could find things to do while I attended and we could do things before or after for vacation fun.

I am so excited! It is in April.

Graduation layouts

I completed four pages this week of graduation pictures. I purchased most of the paper and chipboard from the LSS in the town where my daughter lives. It was a great store!

Grandson's first Christmas

This is our youngest grandchilds first Christmas. He is just at that stage where he recognizes people and does not want anyone other than his parents. He would look at us with this very inquisitive look and decide that he did not know us. He is learning to crawl. He did not seem very interested in the Christmas tree. He loves toys that make noise or play music. He is such a cute baby!

First Married Christmas

My daughter got married in May this year. This was their first married Christmas. She told me she was not putting up a tree since they would not be home for Christmas. We celebrated our Christmas together the day of her graduation. I brought along a pop-up tinsel Christmas tree so that we would have some Christmas decor for our celebration.

I got the greatest Christmas gift from my kids: a Cuttlebug! I have enjoyed playing with it. She is not a scrapbooker, so at her house I was embossing wrapping paper because I could not wait to use it.

Daughter graduates from college

My daughter has graduated from college. I am so proud of her. Her degree is in fashion merchandising. In the college town where she and her husband live, there are not many jobs for that degree. They will live there for a year longer while her husband finishes his Masters degree. In the meantime, she is working in a vet clinic.

Christmas Tea 2007

Every November for the past eight years, a group of women have honored the memory of their friend Cindy Tamplin. Cindy's life was taken in a senseless act, but her spirit lives on. These ladies, who were were all in the same Sunday School class, organize a Christmas tea every year in Cindy's name. It is not the kind of tea where you sit down and have tea. It was a room filled with beautifully decorated tables. It is a jump start to your holiday decorating. There are tables filled with silent auction items, a raffle for a trip, and delicious desserts. Every year there is a different stuffed Santa that the someone designs.

The money raised by the entrance fee to the tea, the silent auction items and raffle are donated in Cindy's name to the Brighter Tomorrows Womens shelter. It is a a fitting homage to the life of a wonderful women. It is a testament to close friendship these women shared.

My sisters and I set a table for second year. The theme for our table was The Music of Christmas. We used my sister, Lizzie's Christmas dishes which have a French horn on the plates. At each place setting there was a page with each of our favorite Christmas songs.

I will post photos of some of the tables. They were just beautiful.
